Who Runs the World?

… GIRLS, we run this mother… in the words of  Beyonce; Queen Bae.

Wait, I thought I was Queen Bae, guess I’ll share my title.

I am currently belting the song “ Run the World” by Beyonce, so its only natural that this is the title of my post.

Some of my readers may know me as a friend, a family member, an acquaintance or,  the girl who made your wedding cake.

Yes, I may be all of those things, but what  you may not know about me is that I’m actually really shy, an introvert if you will. This comes as a surprise to many who know me. It takes a while for me to come out of my shell.  I am extremely critical of myself, and of my work, even though sometimes I may seem nonchalant. I can feel my cheeks getting hot while writing this.  I despise talking about myself, and my business. Not because I’m ashamed or anything. In my head I think, “who cares about what I have to say, why are you interested in me, or what I do for a living”? I think my shyness comes as a surprise to some People  are used to seeing a very confident Bae. I am an absolute BOSS when it comes to busting it out in the kitchen and hustling, but otherwise I like to keep a low profile.

At a recent family gathering someone commented that I Looked absolutely beautiful, and that I should be on the cover of a magazine. After that comment, they asked if they could take a photo of me. I replied, “I’d rather you didn’t”. I just saw it as necessary at the time. They retorted,  “Aren’t you trying to start your own company? Part of that involves having your picture taken”.

Confidently, I stated “ I let my business speak for itself”.

Oddly  enough, people do care about what I’m doing. I get asked about it all the time. A lot of Southern New Hampshire  University ( SNHU)  Alumni  ( My alma mater) have been reaching out to me. Congratulating me on my success, and asking me how I’ve gotten to this point. I even had the privilege of being a Mentor for a current Baking and Pastry student who is deciding what career path to take after graduation.

It means so much to me to hear all of these people sing my praises.  I just want to say thank you for believing in me.  The SNHU motto is “ see yourself succeed”, I’m proud to say, that I am doing just that.

To anyone who is trying to start their own business, I congratulate you, it’s hard work, but you can do it. If you ever need help, or inspiration please do not hesitate to reach out. Success is about sharing your wealth of knowledge with others so they too can succeed.

Remember girls, YOU run the world.

For all you men reading this blog please know that you also can do anything you set your mind to, and that we wouldn’t be where we are today without you… literally.

Hello fellow bloggers. My name is Bailey, but you can call me Bae. I am a 22 year old college graduate, and an aspiring pastry chef. I have recently been released into the real, wild, culinary world, and I am slowly finding my way. In the midst of it all I plan on exploring restaurants, pursuing food photography, critiquing recipes as well as creating my own, as well as reading as many chef biographies as my free time allows. I think it is important to know about the chefs that have paved the way for us fellow culinarians. It also allows you to sound educated when conversing with others in the field. I am very excited to see where this adventure takes me; I hope you will come along for the ride!
